We excel at helping our customers succeed by providing staff and consulting services for:
Science / Technical Projects. Our technicians use science and mathematics principals/theories to assist researchers in the field. We set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments; monitor experiments; make observations; calculate and record results; and record data. We are your turnkey source for the staff required to support and/or conduct research. In addition to being smart and accomplished, our graduate-degree-level technical staff also are highly capable field hands.
Planning Assistance. Our experts can help you select sites and develop detailed budgets and field plans for proposals that mitigate risk and follow principals of environmental stewardship; when you’re successful, we can assist you through complex environmental permitting processes, help you plan field camps and infrastructure, and explore with you options for your field work if your plan changes.
Operations, Maintenance & Construction. Our skilled tradesmen, heavy-vehicle operators, mechanics, chefs, and administrative staff keep a research station on Greenland’s ice sheet operating year-round. Our staff also build portable facilities and field camps. If you need something built or operated, we can help.
Logistics. We’ve chartered air support involving rotary and fixed-wing frames, using Department of Defense and commercial contractors large and small. We have loaded and hauled cargo on heavy vehicles across great ice sheets. Our staff have arranged research and commercial vessel support for transportation and scientific cruises. We’ve placed people in logistics hubs who can communicate with flight crews, prioritize and handle cargo, guide clients through unfamiliar communities, and handle delicate samples. We have even escorted samples through Customs for our clients. Let us help your team get there—and back.
Field Camps. Let us plan, build, and manage your camp so you can focus on the work. Our services match your needs: our people cook, maintain camp infrastructure such as fuel and water, handle flight coordination, manage communication and resupply—the activities that keep your camp happy and healthy.
Field Safety / Risk Management. Experienced bear guards, safety experts, mountaineers, and medics can help you prepare for your adventure and/or avoid peril in the field.
Part of the PFS ethic involves the desire to make things happen. We are a highly effective group of problem solvers committed to helping our clients get their work done. Seriously, we love challenges.
