Sharing information about the research we help support is an exciting part of our role as a National Science Foundation logistics provider, and this time of year, it’s difficult to keep up with all the news coming from the field. Fortunately, we have the help of skilled journalists, including Science Nation online magazine, which takes a dynamic, engaging look at the breakthroughs and the possibilities for new NSF-funded discoveries about our planet, our universe and ourselves.
Last month the magazine’s correspondent Miles O’Brien traveled to Alaska for a story with researchers in Denali National Park and Preserve, Barrow, and Toolik Field Station.
In Denali, they joined Dr. Erich Osterberg on the Ruth Glacier where he is the principal investigator on a project titled, “Reconstructing Central Alaskan Precipitation Variability and Atmospheric Circulation over the Past Millennium.”
From the looks of the pictures they shared, the trip was a resounding success.
